27. Make a list of 50 or 100 favourite songs

I've spent the afternoon today doing this and although it was a very, very difficult process, I've got a Top 100! I'm still not entirely convinced that I haven't left off something very important, but if I have, there's nothing to say I can't go back and change it! But as of this moment, 20:40, May 31 2007, here is the definitive list of Miranda's Top 100 Songs...

In no order other than alphabetical... )

So that's one more to cross off the list!

ETA the next morning: I've already changed it, haha. Just one small difference - Fallen got booted (for the second time) and Vanessa Williams - Colours Of The Wind snuck in!

current location: Home (living room)

I thought it was about time I actually updated this journal... particularly seeing as I have something else to cross off!

8. Get contact lenses

This happened yesterday and has been a long time coming. So I now have two pairs of contact lenses in my possession. Not in my eyes today, mind you, but the option is there! It's so weird being able to see without glasses. Unfortunately it's not an entirely enjoyable task to get the things in and out, but I'm sure it'll get easier with practice.

26. Ask everyone I know (who isn't a spoilsport) to recommend me one song and make a CD (or CDs) of them, no matter what they are

This has been started - I've done the asking part, which taught me that a lot of people I know actually are spoilsports. I'm just having trouble getting one of the songs, so haven't made the CD yet. (If anyone has When The Night Comes by Gerling and would like to share it, it would be appreciated...)

52. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

I've had a few different flavours since last time I updated: Cotton Candy (ok, nothing to rave about); Gold Medal Ribbon (very yum - it involved caramel and chocolate which is always good); Love Potion #9 (don't remember it that well to be honest but I think it was nice); and Strawberry Banana (very disappointing). So I'm up to 21 out of 31 now, so I'm right on track to get this task done, yay.

And that's about it for now! Some of the tasks remaining on my list are a bit uninspiring so I'm trying to come up with some alternatives to replace them with, but obviously I haven't tried hard enough yet...

I've started editing my 101 in 1001 to make it more relevant to my life in England! I was going to just edit the original list but thought I should save that for posterity, so that one is still there, but this entry is now my new official list entry.

A very British update

tired

current location: Wisbech! (Front hallway of house)
feeling: tired
listening to: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy theme

Right, well, my 101 in 1001 stands to be altered a bit, I think. Mainly because I'm no longer living in the country where I started the list and therefore some of the goals have become not only irrelevant, but impossible.

First, though, goals I've achieved since my last update:

2. Go overseas
3. Buy something duty free

I've been overseas to Japan and England, and when I was at the airport in Tokyo I bought a bunch of Japanese souvenirs at a duty free store (namely, a plate, some Hello Kitty cakes, a postcard, some Pocky, some Pretz and some Snoopy pencils. I think that was it).

Pictures! )

20. Climb Wild Horse Mountain again

Shaz and I did this on Boxing Day.

Another picture )

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

After thinking there were no BR stores in England and being devastated about the fact, I found one in Leicester Square in London! Yay! I've also since found out that there's one in Peterborough which is only about 40 minutes from here by bus and basically the best place to go shopping nearby, woohoo. Anyway, in London I had Banana Caramel, even though it was freezing cold, and it was yum! Hooray for England!

A picture of the store, haha )

63. Get photos of/with all my friends

I'm going to cross this one off, because my friends made me an amazing album with pictures of them all in it before I left, and although I know I'll make new friends here, I still consider all my true friends to be in that album.

84. Tidy my room really, really well, and ACTUALLY THROW STUFF OUT (or sell, donate or Freecycle it)

Crossing this one out too, because I had to do that before I left home. It was a horrendous chore, too.

I was going to edit my list tonight too, but I really couldn't be bothered and I just want to go and veg in front of the TV. The original list is here, though, and I'll alter it at a later date.

18. Walk to Kawana and back along the beach/beachfront

Jacqui reminded me about this on Monday. So we did it. Insanely.

For those who don't know, to drive to Kawana takes around 20 minutes. So 40 minutes return. And we WALKED it, on sand. It took about 7 hours and I am still feeling the consequences. At least the excruciating pain in my joints seems to have subsided but the chronic sunburn is still giving me a great deal of grief. Donna took pictures of the sunburn after I'd just done it, but it's still pretty bad so I can give evidence of my glorious tan line as it was about 2 minutes ago. You can really tell I love my digital camera, can't you. :-P

Pics )

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

I FINALLY just finished Jane Eyre! The sunburn was actually a contributing part to that, because I woke up in such pain on Tuesday morning at 3am that I couldn't get back to sleep for about an hour and a half, so I just read. :-P I am nothing if not resourceful. Anyway, as far as 407-page, small print books go, it was enjoyable enough, and I'm glad I've read it. It was just a bit tedious getting through it all, because books from that era are so wordy. But yes, a good story.

Now I'm going to read the Enchanted Wood books again. :-P

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

On Monday, as a reward for our toil, Jacqui and I went to Baskin Robbinwhichs and I got Cappuccino Espresso Concerto, which, as always, was so yum! It was coffee flavoured ice cream with cinnamon (which REALLY made it) and chocolate bits in it as well. Mmmm... I'm thinking before I go I'll have to get a three scoop sundae, but then I have to spend $6.60 (which I don't particularly want to do after the expense of yesterday - which I will eventually write about in my other journal). We'll see.

57. Try 15 new cocktails

I had a Midori 2000 on Tuesday night at CBX, because it was their feature cocktail which meant it was $8 and was two nips instead of one and a half (the content of their more expensive cocktails). I'm such a bargain shopper, lol. Anyway, from memory it had Midori, Malibu, banana liqueur, Blue Curacao and lemonade... and it was quite nice.

73. Get a wireless network card

I'm going to consider this crossed off - rather than getting a new card, I got a whole new laptop that happens to be wireless. I don't do things by halves. :-P

95. Complete a sh1ft.org project, even if it is on 35mm film and not digital

EEEE! I just realised I can do this now with my digital! I might do it in England though. I'll see how I go.

Whole list is here.

Lots of things to report, I think! Well, a few, anyway.

5. Spend a day at Southbank

I'm going to cross this one out. I did it a while ago but didn't cross it off in case I spent a fuller day at Southbank, but it doesn't look like that'll happen. Rashelle and I went there a few months ago and got a smoothie, saw a movie and had lunch, so that's close enough to a day, I think.

25. Listen to all my CDs in their entireity

I'm really going to have to get stuck into this one - I counted the other day and I have about 50 to go. Eeek.

37. Graduate with a GPA of at least 6.0

I got 5.933. NOT HAPPY JAN! I got so close! But yet so far... So I'm not sure what I do here. Do I take it off the list and come up with a new goal, seeing as I didn't properly achieve this one?

38. Get an S1 teaching rating

Done! Yay! And it seems it actually is more of an achievement than I thought because a friend from uni who I thought was guaranteed an S1 only got an S2 - so there you go.

60. Write letters to all my uni friends when I graduate

I was thinking about this during the week (the week leading up to graduation) and thinking how I hadn't done it, and how I wouldn't even really know what to write anyway. So why am I crossing it off? Well, it's because I bought Rashelle a book as a graduation present and wrote a bit of a letter in the front of it - and, honestly, she is the only real true friend I've made at uni. So I consider this goal completed.

85. Decide once and for all if I want a digital camera, and if I do, get one

Got it last night from my dad as a graduation/going away/Christmas/birthday present, haha. Yay!!

98. Win another radio competition

Did this one ages ago, when I won the tickets to the Tripping Over premiere.

Whole list here.

2. Go overseas

This one actually is officially in progress - I booked my plane ticket to England this week! Whee!

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

Today I had Blueberry Swirl. It's some sort of healthy option - low in calories, fat, sugar, etc. And it was really, really nice! Nicer than most of the chocolate, caloriffic ones I've eaten lately, actually. Healthy things can be good!

57. Try 15 new cocktails

After our Melbourne Cup luncheon when we went to the Casino I had a mango daiquiri and a Blue Lagoon. Technically I've had a daiquiri before, but it was strawberry, not mango, so I'm counting it!

71. Make a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child every year

Unfortunately this year's deadline snuck up on me without me realising it was even coming up. So I'm going to change this goal back to what it was originally, "Make a shoebox for OCC" - which I did last year. Which means I've completed it! I'm really disappointed I didn't get to do it this year though.

91. Go on a waterslide

Did this (many times) on Thursday. Yay! Rashelle and I went to Wet N Wild. Unfortunately it was really windy and therefore really cold, but still fun.

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

Just got back from trying this month's flavour - Chocolate Escape. It was a mix of chocolate and Swiss chocolate ice creams (the difference? No idea) with chocolate pieces and also bits of chocolate cake in it. It was nice, but really it wasn't all that different to last month's Chocolate Cookie Crackle. From what I can tell the only difference was this one had cake whereas the other one had cookie. When I bought last month's the guy in the shop told me they weren't making that flavour anymore... but now they've come out with this new one. But oh well, like I said it was still nice. I am getting over the chocolate ones though so I'm hoping next month I can move on to Coconut!

57. Try 15 new cocktails

At Jacqui's party the other weekend I added a few more to this list: Long Island Iced Tea (Coke mixed with a whole bunch of different types of alcohol); Cara Spora (Cointreau and Erin Cream, or something) and Errol Flynn. From memory I think Errol Flynn was actually another cocktail but they just renamed it Errol Flynn to fit with the 1920s theme, but I can't remember what it actually was. It had gin and blue curacao in it, I remember that much. But anyway, now I'm up to 8/15, which means I'm past halfway! Woohoo! (And, of course, all three were yum - as cocktails are by definition!)

85. Decide once and for all if I want a digital camera, and if I do, get one

I've decided I need one for overseas, but I don't have one yet. But it is in progress, because my daddy is buying me one. And after that, he's buying me a pony and a squirrel.

98. Win another radio competition

Ok, opinions please - DOES THIS COUNT? I am a 'Hot91 Freeloader' - which means that I get a Hot91 (radio station, obviously) newsletter sent every couple of weeks, which has competitions in it. I recently entered one to win a pass to the Hot91 premiere of Tripping Over (that new Australian/British (?) show with Daniel MacPherson and Lisa McCune in it), which is on the night before the show is on TV. So yay for me! But the question is: does this count as a radio competition? (The other question is, do I skip my Drama class at uni to actually attend the thing?)

Oh yeah, and I listened to my newest CD purchase (Evanescence's The Open Door, yay) which crosses another one off the "listen to all my CDs in their entirety" list).

And there's a couple more I sort of want to cross out but I'm not 100% positive that I've actually completed the task... so I won't yet. But here is my list.

listening to: A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton

Because I haven't updated this journal for over a month I thought it was high time I actually did.

So, 2. Go overseas is almost a certainty seeing as I'm 95% sure I'm going to England next year. Unfortunately this means some others may not be possible so I might have to adjust my list slightly. But oh well. Yay for going overseas!

This also means I have to do as many of my Australian things as possible in the next 3 months, so Jacqui and I have plans to go to Noosa, walk to Kawana on the beach and go to Wet N Wild so I can go on a waterslide. And Rashelle and I are going to Southbank this week. Ooh, and I'd better climb Wild Horse Mountain too. Shaz might be up for that.

As for things I've actually accomplished, though...

25. Listen to all my CDs in their entireity

I've listened to Fallen (Evanescence) and the Caloundra High Vibe CD.

38. Get an S1 teaching rating

I'm not going to cross this off yet until it's official on December 1... but I have been told (not in so many words... but in enough words that I got the idea) that I got one. YAY!!!

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

The Lovely Bones: It actually wasn't that good, but I finished it the other day, finally. It's taken me ages to get through it. It was ok, but I thought it dragged on a bit and never really got anywhere. It wasn't a "don't want to put it down" book, anyway.

And I actually thought I'd read more than that, but obviously not. :-P Now I'm reading The Tenth Circle, which is a Jodi Picoult book that isn't actually on my list, but one of the teachers from school lent it to me and I do like her books.

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

In August I had Chocolate Mousse Royale (I THINK - I should have written it down then. :-S It was yum, anyway, I remember that much) and then this month I had Chocolate Cookie Crackle which was also delicious! Oh, I'm glad I have this task on my list. :-P It might be difficult in England though - from what I can tell Baskin Robbins isn't everywhere over there. Nooo!

56. Reevaluate 10 (at least 5, if I can't think of 10) food or drinks I claim not to like

Finished! Yay! I tried licorice as my tenth thing. And, much like most things I've reevaluated, I've found that I don't mind it, but it wouldn't be my food of choice. And I didn't have to try beer. Yay. :-P

92. Climb a tree

Another one down! And as I was doing it I wasn't even thinking that it was a thing on my list. We were down at the park last weekend and Brian and Tony kicked their football into a tree so we were all up there trying to find it. I didn't climb right to the top, mind you, but I still climbed a tree. Sadly, the football was never recovered...

Wow, two updates of this journal in three days. I'm so accomplished.

22. Watch an entire game of AFL and try to understand it

I did this last night - Sydney vs Collingwood. Collingwood won and I actually understood enough about the game to be able to recognise that they deserved to win due to the fact that they played a much better game. I do think there are some stupid rules in AFL but at least I'm getting to a point where I understand those rules now, so yay.

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

I finished The Poet like half an hour after my last entry and yes, it was a very engaging read. It's by Michael Connelly if anyone is interested in reading it. Anyway, I'm now reading The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom because I borrowed it off Rashelle, and am going to head to the library either tomorrow or Tuesday to get the next book off my 101 in 1001 reading list.

58. Start a book of recipes

I suppose it is a point of contention as to what exactly "start" means, but as far as I'm concerned I've started the thing because I bought a Marie Claire Recipe Journal in the Myer Stocktake Sale today. I've noticed the book before and thought about buying it because it's nicely organised into categories and whatnot but never actually done so... but now with the sale it was 35% off so I got it for $12.97 instead of $19.95 which is a bargain I think. Now all I have to do is actually transfer the recipes I have everywhere on scraps of paper into it...

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

I finished To Kill A Mockingbird, which was very good and worth its classic status I think, and am now reading The Poet which is also really good. I'd definitely recommend it if you like reading a good mystery. I usually read at night to put myself to sleep and I'm actually finding that with this book I have to read it for ages and ages before I actually want to put it down and turn off the light.

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

A couple of weeks ago I finally got to try a flavour I've been hanging out for, Choc Chip Cookie Dough. Without starting to drool in a Homer-esque way, let's just say it lived up to my expectations!

56. Reevaluate 10 (at least 5, if I can't think of 10) food or drinks I claim not to like

I suppose I can count Hawaiian pizza. I've always said I don't like it but we got pizzas at school the other night before a performance and it just looked so yum on a thin and crispy base that I thought I'd give it a shot - and found out I do like it! Interestingly I really don't like Meatlovers anymore at all.

94. Go to a carnival (preferably Ekka, but I'll settle for Nambour Show) at night

Well it's not Ekka time yet but I did go to the Nambour Show last Saturday night! There wasn't much happening, to be honest, but I still went. :-P

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

I finished Life of Pi last weekend - and really enjoyed it! When it first came out I had very little interest so never read it, but having heard good reports and having to choose ten books out of that booklet, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did. I suppose bestsellers are bestsellers for a reason.

And now I'm reading To Kill A Mockingbird. Just before prac I happened to say to my mother that I really have to read that book, because I can just see myself walking into a classroom where they're studying it, because practically every school does that book. And what do you know - the year 12 English class I'm observing is reading it! So I'm reading it too.

53. Sample 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

Today I had Buried Treasure, which is Jamoca and caramel flavoured ice cream with bits of colourful hard candy in it. It was nice, but a bit stingy on the candy - I only got one and a half pieces. Still yum, though. I always look forward to my Baskin Robbins days!

97. Buy at least one other series of a TV show on DVD for myself (probably Friends, Seinfeld or Kath & Kim)

Yay, I've crossed something else off! I ordered series 3 of K&K a couple of weeks ago and after a bit of a drama with the payment, it arrived on Thursday! Tres fun.

And the whole BookCrossing thing is getting ridiculous; I still haven't released a book yet.

... because I really haven't achieved all that much lately, list-wise. :-P

But I did finish reading Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult, one of the 20 books on my reading list (task #44). It was really excellent and I'm definitely going to read more of her books now. I've since read a couple of YA books for an assignment and am now reading Life Of Pi (I'm about 4 pages into it).

I've also sampled another Baskin Robbins flavour (task #53): Bavarian Choc Mint. It was SO YUM too! Chocolate ice cream (but really nice chocolate ice cream, not dodgy stuff) with mint chocolate pieces all through it. Looking forward to next month's flavour (whatever it may be)...

I've also reassessed two foods I claimed not to like (task #56): pumpkin and anchovies. I've decided that I actually like pumpkin now, which is exciting. As for anchovies... well, I could tolerate them on a pizza I suppose, but let's just say I wouldn't order them by choice.

And I still haven't released that book for BookCrossing. I'll have to do that by the end of the week, it's getting a bit pathetic now. :-P

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

No, it's not actually a 'Borders' booklet, blah blah blah. The point is I actually finished another book, and more to the point, actually enjoyed it! The book in question is Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty, and even though it's far from being canonical literature, it was most definitely an enjoyable read. This is evidenced by the fact that it only took me four days to finish it and the fact that I wasn't always trying to find excuses not to read it. It's lighthearted, but also serious in its way as well. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a realistic, relatively easy read. Actually, maybe any women, rather than anyone. Anyway, my next book is going to be Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult, because I bought it for only $8 at Target today, during a mini shopping spree that also included the purchase of two nice pairs of shoes for the unbelievable bargain price of $2.86 each.

You know, I think success in this 101 in 1001 thing can be measured in a couple of different ways. Yes, it is obviously extremely successful if you are able to complete all 101 tasks with 100% accuracy, and I would love to be able to say I've done that. However, I don't think I will be able to, and I think that in a way, that is success in itself. I didn't expect this, but part of the exercise has been assessing myself a bit and realising that while I might think something is a worthwhile goal in September 2005, it may not be so important in May 2008. For example, I'm still not convinced I'm going to make another list at the end of this one (thus chalking up a failure for task #101). Furthermore, I've missed the last couple of weeks of renting a movie, partly due to the fact that I simply haven't had time and partly because I've been at uni on Tuesdays, thus missing $1 Tuesday at Civic. And that's technically failing task #30. But I don't think it's actually failure - because I think that recognising that completing these tasks won't necessarily enrich my life is, in its own way, success in itself.

List is here.

Ok, I've achieved quite a bit, I think!

31. Finally buy The Notebook on DVD

I did this on January 25 and am only just getting around to reporting it, oops. I bought it with the help of a gift card [info]_thisisme got me for my birthday, which was very exciting. Unfortunately my DVD player is broken so I haven't been able to watch it yet, but hey, at least I actually have it.

33. Buy an artistic photo/print

I actually did this in Sydney on, I believe, January 30, but I totally forgot about it until I found said photo on my floor while I was tidying my room recently. It's a photo of Sydney Harbour on New Year's Eve, with fireworks.

36. In addition to The Lion King, see a play/musical not required for a Drama course

I bought tickets for Beauty and the Beast the other day, which I will be seeing on March 2... and Rashelle and I were talking about going and seeing Rent as well, so I'll be a real theatre buff soon. :-P

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

I've only just realised they're not Borders booklets at all; I just got them from Borders. They're actually something to do with Books Alive, or similar. Either way I've decided to give up on Cold Mountain because I was getting nowhere. It took me months to get to page 214 (out of 491) so I finally decided to stop wasting my time and read something actually enjoyable instead. Right now I'm reading Teacher Man by Frank McCourt (which isn't on my 101 in 1001 list, but it's great) and I've almost finished that, and Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty (which is on my list) is waiting to be read next seeing as I bought it for $7.95 from QBD the other week. I'll have plenty of time to read this semester thanks to the possibility of 10 hours of break each week at uni.

February's flavour was Chocolate, which was a bit boring quite frankly because it's not like I've never had chocolate ice cream before. It was still nice, mind you, but I think I would have preferred something a bit more exotic.

57. Try 15 new cocktails

I had a 'Dirty Devil' on February 4 from Montezuma's.... it was SO yum! I forget what it had in it exactly but it just tasted like a strawberry smoothie. Mmmm...

99. Enter a competition (in addition to radio competition) in which I actually have to do something (ie not just send in a form/SMS)

I did this the other day when I entered a competition to win one of The OC Mix CDs - I did have to fill in a form, but I also had to say in 25 words or less why I should win the CD. I thought I was in with a shot too because I had a whinge about how I'd tried to buy the DVDs the day before but they'd sold out, and the CD would be a perfect consolation. I guess it just wasn't to be though. (Not that I really care because I don't like most of the music they play on The OC but that doesn't mean I don't like winning things. :-P)

So that's 14 down, 87 to go. And the full list is here!

Two more things to add...

pleased

feeling: pleased
listening to: Forever Young - Youth Group

53. Sample all 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

I tried another one last week: Caramel Chocolate Crunch. It was awesome! It was caramel with chocolate cookie bits in it... yum.

Oh, and also, I'm changing this one from "sample all 31 flavours" to "sample 31 flavours", because I've since found out there are 1000 flavours. But I think I'm going to make it my life's goal to sample all 1000. :-P If I stick to one a month and live to be about 130, I might make it. :-P

68. Get first aid certificate

Done! Yay. It wasn't the most fun goal to complete, but a worthy one, I think, and hey, at least it's done now.

So that makes a grand total of 11 completed goals, with another 17 in progress.

Speaking of the list, the whole thing is here

I'm so awesome :-P

accomplished

feeling: accomplished
listening to: Push The Button - Sugababes

Ok, big update coming up! I was going to wait until I had photos to accompany my words but I know that if I waited for that it would probably never get done :-p so here goes - my picture-less 101 in 1001 update! (Full list is here)

30. Rent at least one film per week

I missed a couple of weeks of this when I was on holidays but that was unavoidable, and I got back in the game today when I rented Analyze This.

31. Finally buy The Notebook on DVD

I tried to do this last week when KMart had 15% off but they'd sold out, grrr. Oh well - I'll get there eventually!

35. See The Lion King musical

Done! It was incredibly awesome too - certainly an enjoyable task to complete!

44. Read at least 10 books from each Borders booklet I have

Still struggling through Cold Mountain. It really hasn't grabbed me at all. In fact I really should renew that; the library sent me an overdue notice last week. Oops.

54. Have a Krispy Kreme donut

Done! In fact, I've had three. :-P My first one was when I arrived at Sydney Airport and got a blueberry glazed donut, then when we left the airport again I figured I wouldn't have the chance to have one again for a while so I had another two, lol - a glazed cruller and an apple cinnamon.

57. Try 15 new cocktails

While in Melbourne I tried two: American Pie and Cookies and Cream. Both were awesome! So now I'm up to 4 out of my 15...

65. Have a great 21st party/birthday

DONE! Oh, most definitely done. The party (the night before my birthday) and the actual day were both awesome and as a result I just love being 21!

66. Put all my silver change in my money box every Sunday
67. Save at least $10 a week

Haven't done either of these for quite some time, oops. I'll get back into it now that I'm actually getting hours at work and stuff. (Speaking of which, this week is going to be awesome, money-wise. I'm doing 26.5 hours at Caloundra and 6.5 at Maroochydore - and some of those involve a birthday-related pay raise! Woohoo!)

88. Go to a casino
89. Play roulette at a casino

Did both of these while in Melbourne too, and I'm very glad that the Crown was my first casino experience - it was great!

101. Start a new list on day 1001

I think I've almost decided I don't want to do this. Is that bad?

It's all me, yo.

More food stuff :-P

indescribable

feeling: indescribable
listening to: You're Beautiful - James Blunt

I haven't done an update here for ages, so here goes...

53. Sample all 31 flavours at Baskin Robbins

I tried another flavour on Friday: Boysenberry Cheesecake. It was very, very good! But I mean, when the word 'cheesecake' is in the title, you can't really expect anything else.

56. Reevaluate 10 (at least 5, if I can't think of 10) food or drinks I claim not to like

I tried sushi last week! I guess it wasn't really sushi in the traditional sense of the word - i.e. no raw fish - but it wasn't totally revolting! In fact, I actually had a second roll after I had the first one. So now I know I can eat sushi - the chicken kind, anyway.

57. Try 5 new cocktails

Am changing this from 5 to 15 because I think 5 is too easy... and not as fun. :-P

68. Get first aid certificate

I've booked this for January 16-17... It's a Monday and Tuesday all day, and what's cool is that at work I've been rostered on to work every Monday in January except this one - without me even telling them about it!

All in all, it's taking me a very long time to actually get through this thing. :-P Also, having rethought it, I don't know that I'm going to do another 101 in 1001 list after this one, which means I'll have failed one of my tasks... But I'll decide that for sure later on.

Full list is here.
